✨History Made in the U20 National League

It was a weekend to remember for Kildare Gliders, with a historic result in Sligo and a strong set of performances across our teams.

A first for the club

Saturday was a very significant day for Kildare Gliders, as our U20 Men started in the National League for the first time in the club’s history.

Building a player development pathway is a key part of the growth of the club, and entering the National League is an important step in that journey. It gives our players the chance to test themselves at a higher level and to keep developing within the club.

To show how far the club has come, our U20 Men travelled to Sligo to face Atlantic Eagles at Ursuline College, Finisklin, and came home with an incredible 125-40 win. It was also the club’s very first win in the U20 National League.

Well done to Coach Troy and the lads on a fantastic start. We are excited to see what they can do as the season goes on.

Saturday 17th October

  • U14 Girls beat North Kildare
  • U20 Men beat Atlantic Eagles in the National League (our first ever win in the competition)
  • U16 Girls beat North Kildare

Both our U14 Girls and U16 Girls got the win against North Kildare, making it a brilliant day for the girls’ teams.

Sunday 18th October

  • U13 Boys beat Larrie Birds
  • U12 Boys lost to Portlaoise
  • U14 Girls lost to Tullamore
  • U18 Boys lost to Dundalk Ravens in the National Cup

Not every result went our way on Sunday, but every player gave their best and represented the club so well. Every game is a chance to learn and grow, and we are proud of all our teams. Keep working hard, keep believing and keep enjoying the game.

A big thank you to all our players, coaches, match officials and table officials, and to all the supporters who cheered on our teams, near and far. Your time and support mean a great deal to the club.

Go Gliders! ✨🔵🔴
